Flagler Beach's Christmas Parade Spreads Holiday Cheer
The holiday season is a magical time along the Atlantic Coast in Florida, and there's no better way to get into the holly, jolly spirit than with a Christmas parade! The Holiday at the Beach Parade has become a beloved tradition here in Flagler Beach, uniting locals and tourists in a celebration of community, camaraderie and the spirit of the season. Each year, the parade promises to be a festive celebration, and 2023 is no exception. Make plans to grab a seat along the parade route when you stay with us at the Beach Front Motel this December.
The 2023 Holiday at the Beach Parade is set for Saturday, Dec. 2. The parade begins with the arrival of our famous skydiving Santa, who parachutes onto Flagler Beach, landing in the soft sand just north of the pier. From there, Santa hops on a Flagler Beach fire truck and launches the parade around 1 p.m. as its guest of honor. Parade watchers gather along State Road A1A, eager to catch a glimpse of the joyful procession of marching bands, holiday characters, mounted police officers, military honor guards, dance troupes, and all sorts of vehicles — from classic Corvettes to over-the-top decorated golf carts.
Then, of course, there are the floats. Local businesses and community groups come together to craft imaginative floats, transforming the parade into a moving canvas of holiday spirit. From classic Christmas scenes to tropical twists on tradition, each float tells a story and reflects the creativity of Flagler Beach's residents. All total, there will be about 50 parade entrants taking part in this Flagler Beach Christmas tradition. Awards are given for Best of Parade, Best Marching Unit, Best Holiday Theme and Judge’s Choice.
Presented by the Rotary Club of Flagler Beach, the Holiday at the Beach Parade is a time-honored tradition that exudes a warmth and intimacy that larger celebrations often lack. Plus, Flagler Beach is one of the few towns in America that has an oceanside Christmas parade. The rhythmic sound of ocean waves provides a soothing backdrop to the jubilant celebration, creating a one-of-a-kind holiday experience. Parade attendees are treated to a picturesque view of the Atlantic as the parade marches along the beachside route.
Flagler Beach's Holiday at the Beach Parade is more than a procession of floats and marching bands; it's a testament to the town's tight-knit community and their unwavering commitment to spreading joy during the most wonderful time of the year. And where else will you see a parachuting Santa? It's a great way to appreciate Flagler Beach's sense of family during your holiday getaway at the Beach Front Motel.
